hola dejame decirte que no tiene mucho tiempo que se de ti y de tu trabajo, te conoci en mayo del 2008 cuando diste una clinica con la yamaha de puebla en el teatro de la ciudad y me quede impresionado con tu nivel musical y de ejecusion y sobre todo con tu sencilles de persona, te felicito mucho y me siento orgulloso de que seas mexicano y estes haciendo las cosas tan bien(se que te suena muy familiar),me cambiaste la forma de ver la bateria y de lo que quisiera llegar a ser. Unas preguntas rapidas, �que tecnica o como empezaste a tocar con doble pedal?,�me podrias recomendar un metodo o unos ejercicios de esto?, �que opinas hacerca de los bateristas de metal?. muchas gracias y te mando saludos aqui desde puebla.

Hola Antonio.
Mi Nombre es Mauricio Ramirtez Soy un Baterista Colombiano que en este momento se encuentra en Berlin, Alemania, estudiando y tocando Jazz.
Precisamente viajo a Mexico el 20 de Diciembren hasta el 8 de enero.
Mi Hermana vive en D.F y nos vamos a encontrara toda la familia ah�.
Queria preguntarte si tendrias tiempo para encontrate conmigo y darme una o un par de clases, durante esas fechas; realmente como m�sico, admiro todo el proceso que viviste y todo lo que nos haces sentir a los m�sicos cuando tocas, porque sentimos que esta tu coraz�n presente cada vez que te sientas a la bater�a.
Se que estas muy ocupado todo el tiempo, igual haz luchado mucho tiempo por eso y sin lugar a dudas lo mereces; pero si tuvieras un par de horas para vernos se que seria para mi de gran ayuda y gran importancia para continuar con mi proceso.

Antonio, I just saw you play here in San Miguel de Allende, with your trio. You are amazing, but I guess you know that. Your technique and ideas are so refreshing. Then you play a clave in 7 w/left foot and I have no idea what you were doing with the other 3 limbs. And never will.

Antonio eres un genio, hay cosas que solo tú haces que es difícil asimilar, rompes todos los paradigmas y esquemas impuestos por algunos otros, es impresionante. Y en esa dificultad que pudiese encontrar cualquiera que te escuche y vea para asimilar lo que haces, va una enorme capacidad para expresar lo que "es", eres una de esas pocas humanidades que podemos ver en este mundo tocados por una extraña fuerza, no sé si divina o de alguna otra índole, gracias Antonio por tu música, excelente tu disco ahora sé porque tardaste un poco en hacerlo.

I just want to say that i love your playing style!I just bought your masterclass dvd,and i was very inspired.You look so relaxed no matter what you're playing.Did you work on anything specific to acquire such relaxation and control on the drums?Also,what do you use to create the tracks you are playing to?I realize they are tracks from your record, but if you want to create vamps or backing tracks to play to,what do you use?Is it a sequencer, or a computer program?Thank you for your time.

I saw you play in the Pat Metheny Trio in Santa Fe in March, and you were amazing! Seeing and hearing you for the first time was like hearing the drums for the first time, as you are the first I've heard to truly "play" the drums and not just hit them. Hi there Antonio. I was at your first concert in South Africa - Carnival City. It was absolutely mind blowing. I felt so priviledged to see you play. I was one of the more loud fans i the crowd. i'm sorry but i just could'nt help jumping up after every song to cheer you on - you were phenomenal man!! I love playing the drums and have a band of my own but i must admit after seeing you play i was once again reminded of how far i still have to go. I have been listening to you, more especially with Pat for a number of years and i have been so inspired by your playing. My style is to a large degree influenced by yours and evey time i see you play i learn something new. I also admire drummers like Carter Beauford, Marco Minnemann, Steve Gadd and many more but your style sticks out far more for me. I have a nerdy question about The Gathering Sky, from Speaking of Now - What's the rhythm of the transition to the blowing section (right where the tempo speeds up)? There's like a one measure (if it's 6/4, 2 measures if it's 3/4) transition I can't figure out.

WOW! That pretty much describes my impression of your playing after having the privelege of seeing you last evening with The Pat Metheny Trio here in Burlington, VT. This was the first time I had ever seen the trio live and I was blown away. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I also play drums and now that my children are both in college, I am looking into a new kit. I'm currently recuperating from surgery on a torn achilles tendon so it will be awhile before I can play, but I can honestly say that watching you last night has inspired me to get back to it ASAP! Your technique is flawless and your ability to play (and in some cases, not play) what the music requires is impeccable. Watching you all last night was a total joy for us and I hope you decide to come back to Burlington again soon. I'd be the first in line for tickets! Can't wait for the CD to arrive in January. Thanks Antonio to you and Pat and Christian for making last night such a special evening. The three of you are pure magic together.

Let me start by saying thank you for all the inspiration.

I have a question concerning your independence (this might act as a good question for the Hudson Music video you're shooting). This particularly relates to all of the foot ostinatos you use. I understand the concept of being able to learn a complex four way interdependent pattern, but my question is, how do you go about gaining so much control over a pattern that you are able to improvise freely on top of it, especially in the case of a very syncopated pattern such as a type of clave. Thanks so much, and I can't wait to see the new video!
